Bows

  1. Place the bow in its bow box with foam on either end to minimize movement; proceed to step 5
    • If there is no bow box, proceed to step 2
  2. Roll up the bow in a sheet of bubble wrap; make sure that the hair has been loosened
    • When shipping more than one bow, wrap all bows in one roll, placed with alternating frogs and tips
    • Make sure the wrap is longer than the bow to keep the bow from shifting during shipping
  3. Place the roll of bubble-wrapped bow(s) in a PVC or cardboard tube
  4. Fold the ends of the bubble wrap over to keep the end of the bow from hitting the pipe
    • Don’t force the bow into the tube; the fit should be snug but not too tight
  5. Place the tube containing the wrapped bow(s) in a cardboard shipping box
  6. Fill the box with styrofoam peanuts
  7. Ship via UPS, USPS, or FedEx Ground services; insurance is not needed as our policy covers all instruments coming in and out of the shop
  8. Obtain a tracking number

* There should be a minimum of 2 inches of clearance between the case and each side of the box
* Bows must be shipped in square or rectangular packaging, as tubes can roll off truck shelves during transport
